The delay was caused by private reasons like c04RokDaZone c03being ill (he is ill by birth, but in this case we mean physically ill) and c04Damion c03having moved to another town while leaving his Amiga in his old flat so that he is able to work on generation only on weekends. Our source, which wants to remain anonymous, told us on IRC that these are the plans they made definately, but it is insecure that it will work out like that. f2c02 DIZNEE KLUB INVITAION f1c04 23.09.97 Abyss c03are back with the latest issue of their chippack c04"Diznee Club"c03. It's the running number four and contains all tunes from the latest c04THX c03competition, held on IRC lately. f2c02 NAH-KOLOR ANNOUNCE RELEASES f1c04 23.09.97 c03After their Italian Party (c04TIG97c03) is over, they decided to release a slideshow with gfx by their hungarian member c04Unreal c03and a demo - under the title "Unauthorized Lands" - in October. Likely at the Saturne Party'97 in Paris/France. f2c02 GENERATION DEAD? GET ALIVE! f1c04 23.09.97 c03Lately socalled news that c04Generation c03has died have hit our ears. Errrr... Nope. Actually Generation25 is already under production but still it is delayed. Generation is originally meant to be released exactly every four months which would have required a release in September. Due organizing reasons and personal difficulties (c04The Ripper c03moving to Spain, c04Damion c03starts to study, c04RokDaZone c03prepares for exams), we have to delay at least a month. So expect Generation 25 - the jubilee issue - late October, early November. c04... and if you hear anybody spreading rumours about our death tell him to f**k off! f2c02 NO MORE MK II f1c04 20.09.97 c03Again it's c04ADX c03who come up with strange news. According to them, the c04Cyberstorm MK II c03series from c04Phase V c03will not be produced anymore. Phase V even announced not to produce any acceleration boards equipped with a 68040. Instead will release the c04Cyberstorm MK c03III which will be equipped with an 68060/50 as before but a up to 50% sped up RAM grasp. Also the Ultra Wide SCSI2 controller will be onboard. No good news we guess: The card is said to cost 1300,- DM and therefore more than a c04Cyberstorm PPC c03Mhz! As both the hardware reseller c04ADX c03and the soft- and hardware reseller c04Oberland c03confirm, the c04CYBERSTORM PPC c03 MHZ has finally arrived and can be shipped out from now on. The 180 Mhz and 150 Mhz are expected in October, followed by c04Blizzard PPC c030. Maschke c03(Coder/Maker of Dataworld1+2 and Wildsummer) and c04A. Küssner c03(Eksec/Infect) have made a written agreement with c04Amiga Oberland c03for a professional version on CD-rom. According to Eksec, not less than four different companies tried to get the distributing rights. DM to an amount of 1.5 mio. DM by selling shares over the Internet directly! The selling started by the 11. August 1997. The gained capital is meant to be invested in assemblycapacities and the development of further multiprocessorsystems. f4 "PIOS has always refused financing by creditinstitutes consequently," f1is their main credo and reason enough to go and share with independent third party financees. Lateron this year, he has announced to start programming games on PC. Highly original, really. f2c02 PHASE V ANNOUNCES A/BOX DELAY f1c04 28.07.97 c03After last minute delivery delays of their Cyberstorm PowerPC extentioncards, also the roadmap for their planned new Amigamodel called c04A/BOX c03has been changed. Instead their original plans to release this innovative PowerPC-based system after the second qarter in 1998, the final testing phasis extends now to the third quarter so that a delivery before the fourth quarter of 1998 seems highly improbable. f2c02 TRANS AM TO LAUNCH IN SEPTEMBER f1c04 28.07.97 PIOS AG c03changed their original timeschedule for the release of their Amiga clone on CHRP-basis for September 1997. f2c02 SAPPHIRE UPDATED f1c04 17.07.97 c03As c04Cool T.J c03told us, Alpha has changed handle to c04Phoenixc03. BACK ON TRACK f1c04 08.07.97 f4c03 "I also wanted to inform you that Rage! 5 should be out soon." f1c04Brainwasherc03, the coder of the told-to-be-dead prominent Amigachart. f4"In fact c04Napoleon c03(main-editor) told me the texts would be ready within 10 days." f1Moreover, Brainwasher is eager to tell that issue 5 is not going to be the last one. Further news about Rage!: Brainwasher found a new way of editing texts which he will insert into the engine aswell as plans for a sooncoming Rage!-homepage are made. f2c02 SANE BACK IN BIZ - MAGIC EXPELLED! f1c04 03.07.97 c03Today c04Sane c03announced in a personal letter his re-enterance into the c04Seenpoint c03staff, aswell as the group c04Sardonyx c03itself. For reasons on his leaving before compare below. Sane is happy to tell that after an internal clearance of the affaire, c04Fishwave c03finally decided to expell c04Magic c03from the team in order to rather keep the old team intact. Therefore Magic once again is without a team to work for on regular basis. After the heavy attacks in Insomnia, Jurassic Pack and also in Generation (compare Online issue 24; The Marvellous(!) Lunatics Ball), the air seemingly gets thinner and thinner for the Dutch Scener. f2c02 INFECT RENAMED f1c04 02.07.97 c03Although it might appear like a new strange joke from the partyheroes, the group "Infect" has renamed into c04"Infect!"c03. According to c04Eksecc03, worldleader of the legendary group, this was announced at their internal meeting, end of June in Magdeburg/Germany. Reason: "Infect" was found by c04YAHOO! c03too many times. Further plans: Infect! will now get active on all systems - organic systems, as Eksec underlines. Well, may the infection go on. f2c02 WIRED ALSO IN 1997 f1c04 27.06.97 Wired'97 c03will this year be held from the 18th to 20th of July in Wames/Belgium. The Partyseries being held since 1994 originates from the PC-Scene and covers Amiga and C64 also. The Wired is organised by c04Imphobia c03(PC), c04Pulpe c03(PC), c04Bomb c03(Amiga), c04Smash Design c03(C64) and c04WOW c03(C64). First of all "Imphobia" the diskmag in cooperation with c04Looker House c03and secondly a new musicdisk with modules from c04Hi-Litec03. Both releases will be reviewed in Generation as soon as they are out. f2c02 ARSENIC DIES INTOXICATED f1c04 25.06.97 c03The most promising newcoming group for ages, who celebrated their breakthrough at c04Symposium'97 c03with a second rank at the democompetition, was laid down to rest forever. c04Axis c03(coder) and c04Yazoo c03(gfx) who formed the group in late 1996 are said to have plans together for a new team, while c04DocD c03with his Online magazine c04"Expose" c03is as much left alone as his fellow collegues. The reason of this split is not confirmed officially, yet can be counted as a try to reinforce the creative duo of the founders which seemed to have been interfered as can be seen from the leaving and rejoining of Axis some weeks before. f2c02 A NEW DEVELOPERS SITE ON THE WEB f1c04 25.06.97 c03A new Amiga site has been created to provide a place where developers and users can come together as one to share ideas and comments. It is meant to be an online database that collects ideas, comments and wishes of the users. The contents can be freely consulted as long as every programmer reports what idea he's working on and how the development progresses. Although not confirmed officially it seems like the latest queries about the joining of c04Magic/Nah-Kolor c03into the Seenpoint team played a major role in his decision. The scenish future of Sane, however, remains uncertain as so far Sane has not made any appointment to any group or mag. f2c02 TRSI AMIGA EXPANDS f1c04 12.06.97 c03As c04Uyanik!c03, WHQ of Tristar & Red Sector Inc (c04TRSIc03), confirms has the Amigasection of the legendary group grown to a number of 21 people total. The new members are already commonly known due their activity under the finnish label c04"Mellow Chips" c03when they released demos like e.g. Devine. A "hammer demo" is planned for 1997 already. The originally from Apple developped c04"Tanzania"c03-motherboard comes along with a PPC604e/200 MHz. The lowcost c04Keenya c03/200 is equipped with 16 MB RAM, 12X CD-ROM drive plus 2 MB (max. 4MB) onboardvideo - for 1280x1024 at 75 Hz at the interesting price of DM 3990,-. The high-end Keenya 604/200 Pro 3D will be available for DM 4990,- soon and will be equipped with 32 MB RAM and a 4 MB PCI-graphicsboard. f2c02 AMIGA TECHNOLOGIES SOLD f1c04As confirmed officially now, all rights on Amiga Technologies have been sold to c04Gateway 2000c03. Amiga International - a 100% daughter of Gateway 2000 - was founded in the USA with c04Petro Tyschtschenko c03(ex-Amiga Technologies head) as head of corporation. f2c02 NEW PRICES AT PHASE V f1c04Phase 5 c03rose the prices for their PPC Boards for the A1230. The new price is: DM 795,-. In exchange, the include a higher tacted (180Mhz) processor of the PPC-family. On the other hand they lowered prices for the c04Cyberstorm MK2-turboboardsc03, running on 68040/40Mhz and on 68060/50Mhz. This can be seen as signal to the highend Amiga market to invest into the PowerUp-Solution as the 68040-/68060-Processors are needed to install the PPC-solutions for the A4000.
